Workshop: Building Resilience in Parents of Kids with Invisible Disabilities

An afternoon workshop for professionals from the health, community and education sectors

The demands of school and life are challenging for the entire family.

When students (or their parents) are challenged in a way that is not visible to the outside world—either neurologically or metabolically—it adds a layer of complexity that causes stress in all aspects of life. As a professional, there are many ways to support and improve the family dynamic.

This workshop will introduce an innovative approach to supporting families, drawn from the discipline of coaching, that offers a simple but effective methodology for change management.

Date: Monday, 14 December 2015
Time: 1:30pm-5:00pm (3.5 hours)
Venue: Skills Training Australia, Level 14, 459 Little Collins Street, Melbourne
Cost: $120; $40 students*
*Note: Volunteer positions are available for students able to attend the entire day (i.e. both parent & professional workshops).
